This privacy notice for Gym Notes ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your information when you:

  • Use the iOS app Gym Notes
  • Visit our website at https://www.0x41.ch, or any website of ours that links to this privacy notice
  • Engage with us in other related ways, including any support via email

The Gym Notes app

Your data stays on your device

Gym Notes runs entirely locally on your iOS device. All data you enter in the app - your exercises, workout logs, notes, and settings - is stored only on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to any server we operate. The app requires no account and no sign-up, and we have no access to your workout data.

Your data may be included in your device backups (e.g. iCloud or local backups), which are managed by Apple and covered by Apple's privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes all data stored by the app on your device.

Advertising

The app displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. AdMob is the only third party that receives data from the app. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process the following data:

  • Coarse location (approximate, e.g. derived from your IP address)
  • Device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA)
  • Usage data, such as interactions with ads shown in the app
  • Diagnostics, such as crash logs and performance data

Google uses this data for third-party advertising and analytics. Some of it may be linked to your device or identity and used for tracking across apps and websites, subject to your permission.

On iOS, personalized ads are only shown if you grant the app tracking permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, non-personalized ads are shown instead. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

The website

Automatic collection of information

When you visit the 0x41.ch website, our servers automatically record limited information that your browser sends: the IP address of your device and your browser configuration, such as browser type and version, operating system, and language preferences.

This information is used only to identify potential misuse and to collect statistical information about the use of the 0x41.ch website. This statistical information is aggregated so that individual visitors cannot be identified. The IP address is deleted after 60 days.

Beyond this, you can visit the website and download and use the app Gym Notes without disclosing any personal information. The website sets no cookies of its own and offers no user accounts.

Hosting

The website is hosted on a Content Delivery Network (CDN) from Vercel, Inc., 650 California St, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA. The service of Vercel enables a faster delivery of our website as well as a protection against attacks on our website. User data is processed solely for the aforementioned purposes and to maintain the security and functionality of the CDN.

The use is based on our legitimate interests, i.e. interest in a secure and efficient provision, analysis and optimization of our online offer pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. For more information, please see Vercel's privacy policy.

Links to other websites

The 0x41.ch website contains links to websites that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites and encourage you to review the data protection notices of these websites before you start browsing them.

Your rights

You have the following rights:

  • withdraw consent to processing for which you have previously given consent;
  • object to processing which we carry out on a legal basis other than consent;
  • request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data;
  • receive a copy of your personal data processed by us;
  • ask why we are processing your personal data, to whom we have disclosed it and which countries they are in;
  • know how long we will keep your personal data;
  • check the accuracy of your personal data and ask us to update or correct it;
  • complain to a data protection authority about our data processing;
  • request that we delete your personal data if we are processing it illegally, if we no longer need it, or if you object to us processing it for marketing purposes; and
  • ask that we transfer your personal data to another data controller.

Children

Neither the app nor the website knowingly collects personal information from children, and neither is directed at children.
